Days of our Lives - Thursday, January 25, 2007

>> Conner: I don't know how gravediggers do it.
>> Bonnie: What if we didn't bury it --
>> Conner: Not deep enough? I thought it hit the China wall.
>> Bonnie: What if somebody finds it?
>> Conner: Now, I am tired and I am dirty, and I am gonna go put the tools back in the basement.
>> Bonnie: You're home early.
>> Mimi: When did you take up mud wrestling?
>> Bonnie: Oh, God, water in the basement.
>> Mimi: Again?
>> Bonnie: Don't worry about it. Conner and I took care of it.
>> Mimi: Okay.
>> Conner: Meems, it's you.
>> Mimi: Yeah, your sister. I live here. So, do you two want to let me in on it?
>> Conner: In on what?
>> Mimi: What the heck are you guys up to?
>> Bonnie: [ Chuckles ]
>> Abby: Chelsea, I am registered part-time. I'm not switching.
>> Chelsea: Why not? There's still plenty of time.
>> Abby: I have a job.
>> Chelsea: Abby, you don't need the money. Your parents are helping you out.
>> Abby: There is such thing as loyalty to your employer.
>> Chelsea: Right, because Max wouldn't ever be able to find somebody else to do his filing for him. Look, you're wasting your time. He's totally into Mimi now.
>> Abby: I don't even care about that.
>> Chelsea: Right. Come on, Abby. Just come to Salem U. With me. It will
be totally fun. We'll totally rock the campus. We'll have all the hot guys after
us.
>> Abby: Wait a minute. I thought the only hot guy in your life was Dr. Shane Patton. Don't tell me you've finally given up on him.
>> Nick: I'm really sorry I left my belt at your house. That was really stupid.
>> Billie: Yeah, well, you were kind of in a hurry.
>> Nick: Now Chelsea thinks there's some mystery lover who turns out to be me.
>> Billie: Chelsea will never find out about this.
>> Nick: Do you think that she'd be hurt if she did find out that we...hooked up?
>> Billie: I think she'd be grossed out. By me, not you. You know how kids -- they don't want to have to think about their parents having sex.
>> Nick: I'm not a kid.
>> Billie: No, you're not. I ju-- I just think that your first time should
have been with somebody closer to your own age.
>> Nick: My first time was perfect. It was one of the best experiences of my whole life, so don't feel bad about it because I don't.
>> Roman: Hey, Lucas.
>> Lucas: How are you doing?
>> Sami: Dad, hi.
>> Lucas: What brings you here so late, huh?
>> Roman: Well, I wanted you both to hear it from me before it hit the news. E.J. Wells is back in Salem. He turned himself in less than an hour ago.
>> Lucas: Well, good.
>> Sami: Did you arrest him?
>> Roman: Yeah, yeah, we did.
>> Sami: What did he say about the night that John was shot?
>> Lucas: Yeah, why did he come back now, huh?
>> Roman: According to him, he has friends back here who will clear his
name, and you are the one he mentioned in particular.
>> Officer: Make it quick.
>> E.J.: Memories of times gone by?
>> Kate: Ah, yeah.
>> E.J.: Seriously, Kate, how have you been?
[ Like sands through the hourglass, so are the "Days of our Lives." ]
>> Billie: Nick, I'm glad that our night together was so special for you, but I got to be honest. It never would have happened if I hadn't been drinking. I mean, you know that I have a problem with alcohol, and I thought I was over it, but the truth is, you're never really over it. And that night with you was my wake-up call.
>> Nick: I hope that's not all it was.
>> Billie: I have some sweet memories, but I'm going back to my A.A. meetings.
>> Nick: At these A.A. meetings, do people share experiences about how they...ended up falling off the wagon again?
>> Billie: [ Laughs ] Sharing is optional. Don't worry, Nick. I haven't told anybody, okay? And I don't want Chelsea to find out, either.
>> Nick: I don't want her to find out at all. I'm definitely not gonna tell her.
>> Billie: Okay. You're good for her, you know?
>> Nick: I am?
>> Billie: Yeah. She enrolled in college at Salem U., And she wants to
pay the tuition herself. I can't tell you the last time that she walked out
of the house without going, "hey, mom, can I have some money or something?"
She even used the words, "I want to be a better person." I think that has a
lot to do with you. You're a good influence on her.
>> Nick: It's not my influence on her. Dr. Patton's the person she wants to impress.
>> Billie: You're not a big fan of his, are you?
>> Nick: No, I'm not. To be honest, I kind of just wish he'd go back to the swamp he crawled out of.
>> Chelsea: Yeah, it's over with Shane.
>> Abby: For good?
>> Chelsea: I've been dumped by the good doctor. I haven't gotten one e-message from him since he told me I need to learn how to treat people better, so what can you do?
>> Abby: Maybe he just figured that you weren't really --
>> Chelsea: Nice. I got it. But it's okay. I'm over it now. I'm enrolled
in Salem U. I'm gonna make a big splash in the dating pool, and you should jump
with me. We'll forget all about Dr. McDrippy and Max, who's too blind to see
how great you are.
>> Abby: Well, I'm in. I enrolled.
>> Chelsea: Part-time. That's your problem, Abby. You never go all the way. Oops, I guess I shouldn't have said that, or maybe I should have because somebody doesn't want to grow up.
>> Abby: Oh, right, like you're so mature.
>> Chelsea: Unh-unh. Put the ketchup down.
>> Abby: You put the mustard down, and I'll think about going full-time.
>> Chelsea: Well, think fast.
>> Abby: Or what? You'll stop being my friend?
>> Chelsea: [ Chuckles ] Like that could ever happen.
>> Abby: Hey!
>> Bonnie: Honey, we just told you -- water in the basement. Thank your
lucky stars you weren't mucking around in that. There were bugs and creepy critters.
>> Conner: It's gross.
>> Mimi: It hasn't rained. Where did the water come from?
>> Bonnie: Sewer backup.
>> Conner: Washer -- broken hose.
>> Bonnie: Water everywhere.
>> Mimi: Mm-hmm.
>> Conner: Just forget about it. We took care of it, Meems.
>> Mimi: You're lying, like her.
>> Conner: Well, come with me, down to the basement where it smells like the inside of a pig, but I'll show you so you stop calling your own brother a liar.
>> Mimi: Conner, if you're gonna lie, you should at least get good at it. Watch mom every time she opens her mouth. I'm going to my room.
>> Bonnie: That was smart, offering Mimi a tour of our bone-dry basement.
>> Conner: Bones, yeah. She's on to us, Ma, she knows..
>> Bonnie: I can handle your sister, been doing it for years.
>> Mimi: Look what I got. A fax from Abe Carver. It's a police sketch of the creep suspected of stealing bones from the hospital morgue. Take a look, Conner. Does it look like anyone you know?
>> Mimi: Well, who do you think it is?
>> Conner: Meems.
>> Mimi: Don't "Meems" me, Conner, who?
>> Bonnie: Conner looks like Matt Damon.
>> Conner: Mom, shut up! I didn't want to do it, Mimi. She made me.
>> Mimi: Good God. What kind of a freak mother are you, stealing bones from a morgue?
>> Bonnie: For the love of -- what would I want with a bag of bones?
>> Mimi: Is this really you?
>> Conner: I'm gonna barf.
>> Mimi: Conner, what did she want with those bones? Ugh! I'll find out for myself!
>> Conner: Mimi's smart, Mom. You should have just told her.
>> Bonnie: Look, she's not going digging, not with her new manicure, please. Let's get something to eat. Come on, baby.
>> Conner: I'm not going to jail.
>> Bonnie: Nobody's going to jail.
>> Conner: I should have just stayed on that juvie ranch. I didn't know how good I had it being scared straight.
>> Bonnie: I needed you here, and here's where you're gonna stay, understand?
>> Mimi: Wet basement, huh?! Give me two good reasons -- one from each
of you -- why I shouldn't call the cops right now. You've got 60 seconds.
>> Billie: Hmm. I think somebody's got a crush.
>> Nick: What?
>> Billie: Yeah. Yeah, you know, you're right for Chelsea. I approve.
>> Nick: Chelsea doesn't want me. She wants Dr. Patton.
>> Billie: Look, in my experience, if a guy likes a girl, he makes a move. This Dr. Patton guy, we don't even know who he is or what he is, and he's just flirting with her online.
>> Nick: It doesn't matter what he's doing, though. The fact is he's Chelsea's type, and I'm not.
>> Billie: Yes, you are. She just doesn't know it yet.
>> Nick: If I ever thought Chelsea could feel that way about me... I used
to think the most exciting thing in the world was watching cells divide.
>> Billie: [ Laughs ]
>> Nick: Yeah.
>> Billie: I'm sorry.
>> Nick: No, it's lame, I know. I know. Now I spend most of my time wondering how some girl's eyes can make your heart beat a million times a minute.
>> Billie: It's called chemistry. Have you told Chelsea how you feel?
>> Nick: She knows. She uses it to get me to do things for her.
>> Billie: Oh, well, that's my girl.
>> Nick: And I do them because I want to be close to her, you know? Think there's a 12-step program for people hopelessly in love?
>> Bile: I wish. Trust me. You know, I don't want you to give up on Chelsea
just yet because I think that she likes you a lot more than she's willing to
admit... even to herself. Hang in there. I got to go. Okay, come here. All right.
[ Door opens ]
>> Chelsea: What happened? Someone try to make off with your wheels or something?
>> Nick: Oh, no. I just -- I ran into an old friend from work.
>> Chelsea: Oh, an old friend. Would this old friend be some really hot babe?
>> Nick: What?
>> Chelsea: Come on, tell me.
>> Abby: You know what? I have to go. I have stuff to do. Thanks for dinner.
>> Chelsea: No, no problem. But you're at least gonna think about enrolling full-time, right?
>> Abby: I'll think about it. Are you all right?
>> Nick: Yeah.
>> Abby: Okay.
>> Nick: Um... so, you're going to college. That's cool.
>> Chelsea: Unh-unh-unh. No, don't do that. Nope, you're trying to change the subject. Who made your cheeks turn all pink when I asked you who you were talking to?
>> Nick: My cheeks are not all pink. And, for your information, I was talking to somebody old enough to be your mom.
>> Chelsea: Don't dis my mom. She's really hot.
>> Nick: Oh, I know. I mean, she's, you know, she's attractive...in a mom-like kind of way. Um, let's talk about you. What are you -- what are you planning to study?
>> Chelsea: I don't know. I was actually kind of sort of thinking about maybe law.
>> Nick: Law. That's cool.
>> Chelsea: Listen, Nick, um, I'm really gonna need your help.
>> Nick: Listen, I -- there's not that many part-time jobs where I work. It's -- it's just too difficult.
>> Chelsea: Why are you being all negative?
>> Nick: I'm not trying to be negative.
>> Chelsea: Nick, what is it? You're afraid I'll embarrass you at work or something? I'm not the type of girl your boss would want to hire? What, it's too freaky --
>> Nick: No, no, you're the most beautiful woman I've ever seen. I -- what I mean is --
>> Chelsea: It's okay. Thank you. That's the, um, nicest thing anybody's said to me in a very long time.
>> Kate: You're lucky I didn't have a gun.
>> E.J.: Problem?
>> Kate: Problem? Yes, there's a problem. Our business assets are frozen, and I can't get into my bank account. All because you fled the country.
>> E.J.: What was I supposed to do, Kate, stand around and wait to be arrested?
>> Kate: You don't think you should be arrested? John may be spending the rest of his life in a coma.
>> E.J.: Oh, boo hoo. We all have our crosses to bear.
>> Kate: [ Laughing ] My God. So you're not even gonna bother to deny it, hmm?
>> E.J.: This is about the Salem Police Department setting me up because I threatened to expose their corruption.
>> Kate: God, just shut up, okay? Shut up. Did you shoot John or not?
>> E.J.: I was halfway to guadalajara when John was shot. I didn't even find out about it for a week. Kate, please. If I need to know I've not been abandoned by anybody in this town, it's you. You know me better than anybody else. Kill a man in cold blood -- I couldn't do that. You know that, don't you?
>> Sami: E.J. is not my friend. Yeah, I worked for him for, like, a second at Mythic, and he is my neighbor. That is it.
>> Lucas: Does he have a lawyer yet?
>> Roman: Yeah, yeah, he does, but he may not need one.
>> Lucas: Why not?
>> Roman: Because now it's been proven that Lexie lied about seeing him
shoot John. We got no case.
>> Lucas: We can't let him walk. I mean, yeah, Lexie disappeared. But when she surfaces, when she turns up, then Tek could testify against him.
>> Roman: To what, that he pressured his former lover, a married woman who lied on his behalf? Hell, the judge will dismiss that case before E.J.'s lawyer gets halfway through "I object."
>> Sami: Tek and Lexie aren't coming back, ever.
>> Lucas: Why not?
>> Sami: Because they're dead, and E.J. killed them!
>> Roman: Sami, listen. I realize this is emotional, but there is no proof of that.
>> Sami: E.J. came back. He turned himself in. He would never have done that if he thought you had any evidence to hold him.
>> Roman: Just take it easy.
>> Sami: He ran Lexie and Tek off the road, didn't he? He must have killed them, hid their bodies somewhere, and I am next!
>> Lucas: Calm down. He knows that I helped the cops set him up in that boathouse. He's gonna come after me, Lucas. He is gonna kill me.
>> Lucas: I'm sorry. She's just a little emotional right now.
>> Sami: What?! I am scared, Lucas.
>> Lucas: I know you're scared, Sami, but you're also... just tell him.
>> Roman: What? Tell me what?
>> Lucas: Sami, please.
>> Sami: Oh, my God.
>> Roman: What the hell is going on here? Is somebody gonna say something?
>> Sami: I'm pregnant.
>> Roman: Well... isn't that good news?
>> Sami: Yeah. Yeah, it's really good news, except for E.J...
>> Lucas: Forget E.J. he's not getting anywhere near you. You guys dropped the ball on this. You begged Sami to help you set up E.J. now he's just gonna weasel out of it?
>> Roman: Nobody's gonna hurt her or the baby.
>> Lucas: That's not your job anymore, Roman. That's my job. And I'll protect your little girl. Don't worry about that. E.J. comes anywhere near us, he's gonna have to come through me first.
>> Kate: So, will you expect me to believe that you're innocent because
you're telling me that you're innocent?
>> E.J.: Let's cut to the chase, shall we? This is about my name, isn't it?
>> Kate: DiMera, yes. DiMera -- not exactly a name that suggests good citizenship.
>> E.J.: I'm not my father, Kate.
>> Kate: [ Sighs ] I imagine that you have reliable witnesses that will swear that you were nowhere near that boathouse when John was shot?
>> E.J.: Yes, of course.
>> Kate: How much did you have to pay them?
>> E.J.: Kate, I'm not guilty. Now, listen. I have a team of lawyers who are working around the clock to get Mythic open and operational again.
>> Kate: You really expect me to continue working with you?
>> E.J.: My darling, I expect you to keep sleeping with me. Oh, come on.
You have to admit we worked very well together, didn't we?
>> Kate: That's not the point. I cared about John. He was a friend of mine.
>> E.J.: I'm your full-time business partner and your part-time lover. You've waited years to have it this good. But you can't have it unless you're willing to commit. So what's it gonna be, Kate? It's your move.
>> Nick: You're playing me.
>> Chelsea: Why would you say that?
>> Nick: Because whenever you're nice to me, it's because you want something.
>> Chelsea: Yeah, maybe before. But not now. Look, Nick, all I want is a job. I just don't understand why you won't recommend me for one.
>> Nick: What are you doing? Chelsea, wait. Chelsea, stop it. What are
you doing? Will you please listen to me?
>> Chelsea: I'm really not interested in hearing excuses.
>> Nick: You got to shut up and let me just tell you the truth.
>> Mimi: Okay, truth this time. Try it. You might like it, Conner. Don't strap on the tap shoes, Mom. I've had enough of your lies to last me two lifetimes.
>> Conner: Meems, honey, can't you just leave it alone? Me and mom didn't want to get you mixed up in anything.
>> Mimi: Oh, great. Patrick's already in jail, and you two are on your way.
>> Bonnie: We're not going to jail.
>> Mimi: You will if I call the cops and fill them in on this strange Lockhart tradition of stealing bones from a morgue and burying them in the backyard.
>> Bonnie: You wouldn't call the cops on your own family.
>> Conner: Mimi, don't do it!
>> Bonnie: She's bluffing.
>> Mimi: Commander Brady.
>> Conner: All right, I'll tell you, but you're gonna be sorry that I did.
>> Bonnie: Zip it, Conner.
>> Conner: Or what?! You're gonna send me to bed without my supper? You're a Lockhart, Mimi, and you got a right to know.
>> Bonnie: No, don't!
>> Mimi: Who is it?
>> Conner: It's Dad.
>> Announcer: We will return for the second half of "Days of our Lives" in just a moment.
>> Mimi: This bag of bones Ii just dragged in... that's our dad? Oh, God.
>> Bonnie: Get the chair. Put your head between your knees and breathe
deep, sweetheart.
>> Mimi: I'm not gonna faint. I'm not gonna faint. Wha-- you brought me home a Christmas card from the ranch. You said it was --
>> Conner: From Dad, yeah.
>> Bonnie: You were asking so many questions.
>> Mimi: I want to know what happened to my father. What did you do to him?
>> Nick: When...I'm at work... that's my real world. I'm the man. I get respect. It feels really great.
>> Chelsea: And you don't want me on the scene there teasing you.
>> Nick: Right. Which is why I'd like to keep my worlds separate. I know it's really stupid.
>> Chelsea: No, I understand.
>> Nick: You do? You're not mad at me?
>> Chelsea: No, I'm not mad. I'm sorry.
>> E.J.: It's not a tough question, Kate.
>> Kate: Why did you flee to Mexico?
>> E.J.: Because I needed time to plan a strategy. The Salem Police Department has been trying to get me for months. They broke into my apartment. They legally break into my safety deposit box. Once they find out I'm a DiMera, they move into fifth gear. They start using Commander Brady's own daughter to try and set me up.
>> Kate: Okay, whoa, whoa. Just... hold on. Let's back up a little bit.
How does Sami -- you know, Sami always gets into the middle of the action, doesn't
she? Actually, I have a little theory. I have a little theory about the night
that you allegedly shot John and the same night, coincidentally, that Sami allegedly
rescued my son. Would you like to hear it?
>> Lucas: I knew something like this would happen.
>> Sami: He didn't mean it, Dad.
>> Roman: Look, Lucas is right. When we asked you to set E.J. up at that boathouse, we promised you he'd go to prison.
>> Sami: He's still in jail, right?
>> Roman: For w, but I'm not sure what's gonna happen at his arraignment.
>> Lucas: Why? What do you mean?
>> Roman: I'm not sure we got enough evidence to hold him.
>> Lucas: You tell him he comes near my family, he threatens them, he's a dead man.
>> Roman: All right, just don't get carried away.
>> Lucas: Tell him that for me.
>> Roman: I will give him the message, all right? Sami, I'm sorry. But you're gonna be okay. You and the baby are gonna be okay.
>> Sami: Thanks, Dad.
>> Roman: Okay, now, when can I start spreading the word about the new Brady baby?
>> Lucas: Brady-Roberts baby.
>> Roman: I stand corrected. It's gonna be great for will, though, huh?
>> Sami: Yeah, it is. But you know what, Dad? We're not gonna tell anyone else right now. It's too early.
>> Roman: I'll just wait for your go-ahead.
>> Lucas: Just call us after the arraignment.
>> Roman: Will do. Both of you, take care, okay?
>> Sami: Dad seemed happy about the baby.
>> Lucas: Well, I'm not happy about his department, dropping the ball on E.J. like that.
>> Sami: It's okay. Listen, E.J.'s just been good at covering his tracks.
[ Doorbell rings ]
>> Lucas: I'll cover his tracks. I'll get it. Hold on. Coming.
>> Billie: Hey, bro.
>> Lucas: How are you doing?
>> Billie: Good, how are you?
>> Lucas: I'm getting by.
>> Billie: Sami, I just saw your dad outside in the hall.
[ Cellphone rings ]
>> Billie: Is there something wrong?
>> Lucas: It's Victor. I got to take this in the bedroom.
>> Billie: Okay. Things going okay?
>> Sami: Oh, yeah, no. Everything's great except that E.J.'s back.
>> Billie: What?
>> Sami: Yeah, yeah. He came back to Salem and turned himself in to the
police, and they are afraid they don't have enough evidence, so he's probably
gonna go free after the arraignment.
>> Billie: You must be so scared.
>> Sami: Yeah, that's why I have to go see him.
>> Billie: Who?
>> Sami: E.J.
>> Billie: What?! Sami, are you crazy?
>> Sami: No, I have to talk to him while there are still bars between us.
>> Chelsea: I'm trying to change.
>> Nick: I've definitely noticed that. And, um... about that hospital job...
>> Chelsea: No, Nick, it's okay.
>> Nick: No, no, no, no, no. I'll ask about it. And if they say that there's something open, I'll say amazing things about you.
>> Chelsea: Really? You're not afraid I'll embarrass you?
>> Nick: No, I'm just afraid I'll embarrass myself.
>> Kate: You must have heard about Sami's heroic rescue. All of Salem has been buzzing about it. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if they give her the key to the city.
>> E.J.: Really? Well, good for Samantha. She's been through a tough time of late.
>> Kate: You're not interested in hearing all the details?
>> E.J.: Not particularly, but why don't you tell me anyway?
>> Kate: Well, it seems that Sami and Lucas took refuge from the storm that night in a rustic cabin, and the ceiling collapsed. And Lucas was pinned under a huge beam.
>> E.J.: Ouch.
>> Kate: But Sami was able to do the impossible, and she moved this 2-ton
beam.
>> E.J.: Did she? I don't think even I could lift a 2-ton beam.
>> Kate: Well, it was extremely heavy, but Sami, a woman in love, was able to lift it like a feather and rescue Lucas all by herself.
>> E.J.: Well, what a wonderful testament to the power of love. Well done, Samantha.
>> Kate: You know, I think the heaviest thing Sami has ever lifted would probably have to be a mascara wand. I think she had help rescuing Lucas, a good samaritan, so to speak. Does any of this sound familiar to you?
>> E.J.: I'm not sure I catch your drift, Kate.
>> Kate: I think you helped Sami rescue Lucas.
>> E.J.: Me? Come on, I was halfway to Mexico. I maybe mastered the impossible
in business, but not even I can be in two different places at the same time.
>> Kate: The only way that you could get to Mexico was with help. Help getting through the roadblock that was set up to catch you.
>> E.J.: You know, Kate... I knew that you were wonderful with your imagination in bed, but, uh, this is really good. You could make a lot of money writing fantasy novels.
>> Kate: I think you and Sami helped each other out.
>> E.J.: And I think... that you need to understand, however uncomfortable it may be, that Samantha is about to become your daughter-in-law.
>> Billie: Sami, you cannot go see E.J.
>> Sami: I have to.
>> Billie: You set him up. You helped the police.
>> Sami: And I would do it again in a heartbeat.
>> Billie: Okay, use your brain. He is dangerous. He tried to kill John.
>> Sami: I know he did. He's not gonna try to kill me. He's having too much fun torturing me.
>> Billie: Well, Lucas will never let you go.
>> Sami: I know. And that is why I am so glad that you are here.
>> Billie: Oh, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. Cancel that thought.
>> Sami: Please, Billie. When Lucas comes back, you can tell him that you want to go shopping with me tomorrow.
>> Billie: Sami, if anything happened to you, I would feel guilty forever.
>> Sami: He's not gonna hurt me. He'll be in jail, okay? I need to see
if I can figure out what he's thinking. Please, Billie, please.
>> Billie: Come here.
>> Sami: What?
>> Billie: Come here. Here, swear on this. Swear on this. Put your hand up here. Swear on this phone book that you will not -- that you will be super careful.
>> Sami: All right, I swear on the names of everyone who lives in Salem that I will be extra --
>> Billie: Hey, you look bummed.
>> Lucas: Victor wants to see me first thing in the morning. I can't talk him out of it.
>> Sami: I'm sorry, honey, but he's the boss. How long do you think it'll be?
>> Lucas: When he goes on like this, you never can tell. With any luck, I'll be home for dinner.
>> Sami: Oh. Well, you know what I'll do? I'll practice cooking. I'll
try to make that lasagna you like so much at Chez Rouge.
>> Lucas: I worry about you being alone. I don't want that.
>> Sami: I'll be fine. I'll be fine, right, Billie?
>> Billie: Fine. I'm gonna go get some sleep. I'm extremely tired. I'll see you all later.
>> Lucas: Don't let the bedbugs bite.
>> Sami: Um, see, Billie will help. I'll stay home. I'll have a cooking marathon. And if I need help with recipes, I can knock on your sister's door.
>> Lucas: I still feel a little weird about leaving you alone.
>> Sami: I'll be here, I'll be fine, and I'll be waiting for you come home. I love you.
>> Chelsea: How would you embarrass yourself? I thought you owned that
hospital lab.
>> Nick: You never know. I might suddenly go wild.
>> Chelsea: I'd pay to see that.
>> Nick: Well, if it happens, it will be a free show.
>> Chelsea: Well, I hope I'm there -- working, I mean. I'd make you proud of me.
>> Nick: You don't have to work at that. I'm already proud of you.
>> Chelsea: I've never known anybody to say things to me like that.
>> Nick: Hey. Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey. What's wrong?
>> Chelsea: Nothing.
>> Nick: Don't say nothing. What is it? Come on.
>> Chelsea: If I say it, you're just gonna think I'm saying it to get on your good side. But I swear, I just really want to be honest with you.
>> Nick: Tell me.
>> Chelsea: God, this is gonna sound so lame. Sorry. Nick, um, I really like you.
>> Conner: Settle down, Meems.
>> Mimi: I have a right to know what happened to my father. And you're gonna tell me.
>> Bonnie: I refuse to answer on the grounds it might incriminate me.
>> Mimi: Oh, my God. You killed Dad. You murdered our father?
>> Bonnie: I didn't say that.
>> Mimi: You're not denying it. You -- you steal his bones from the morgue so nobody will know whose they are, and you bury them in the backyard to hide them, you murderer.
>> Bonnie: Just tell everybody, why don't you?
>> Mimi: No, you tell me that I'm wrong.
>> Conner: Meems, if you hadn't come home when you did, you wouldn't have
known a thing. Can't you just pretend?
>> Mimi: No! Who are you?! Both of you. What's left of my dad is in a bag in the middle of our living room, and the both of you are acting like it's no big deal. Connor, if you ever cared about me at all, tell me what happened to our father.
[ Soft guitar music playing throughout ]
>> Conner: I'd tell you if I knew, Mimi, but I don't. Mom just said she wanted help hiding the bones.
>> Mimi: And you didn't ask what happened?
>> Conner: You know me -- never been curious about stuff.
>> Mimi: Conner, we promised each other we wouldn't turn out like her, we'd be honest, we wouldn't end up raising our kids the way she raised us.
>> Conner: I'm going to bed.
>> Mimi: I'm taking his bones to the police station tomorrow. I'm going
to identify them as my father's remains, and I'll explain how I found them in
my own backyard, freshly buried.
>> Bonnie: You'd send me to jail?
>> Mimi: You've got until morning to tell me the truth, and then I rat you out. In the meantime... I'm locking this "bag of bones" up in my room with me.
>> Chelsea: I do like you, Nick. I think I always have. It's just -- I was so used to teasing you.
>> Nick: Old habits, right?
>> Chelsea: You're the smartest guy I've ever known, definitely the sweetest, and, for some crazy reason, you've stood by me, even when I've treated you horribly.
>> Nick: That's what friendship is about, right? Support, protection.
>> Chelsea: Yeah, but it's, um, more than that. You... this is gonna sound
so lame again. Um... you inspire me. And, um, I'm sorry for how I've mistreated
you.
>> Nick: It's okay. You haven't been that bad.
>> Chelsea: Just promise me that you'll always be my friend no matter what, okay?
>> Nick: Of course.
>> Chelsea: Nick Fallon... you're the best.
>> Nick: [ Sighs ]
>> Lucas: I still got a bad feeling about this.
>> Sami: It's okay, Lucas. I'll be fine.
>> Lucas: No, it's about Victor. He's on the warpath with Shawn and Belle taking Claire.
>> Sami: Oh, well, you know Victor. Just let him vent.
>> Lucas: Well, if he asks me, I'll just tell him the truth. I think Claire belongs with her biological parents, Shawn and Belle.
>> Sami: I don't think it's biology that matters. Claire belongs with
Belle because Belle is her mother in every way that counts.
>> Lucas: Can't argue with that.
>> Sami: Let's not talk about this anymore, honey. I'm tired. I'm exhausted.
>> Lucas: Exhausted? Too exhausted to make me dinner?
>> Sami: [ Laughs ]
>> Lucas: Too exhausted to get your groove on? Come on, don't tell me you're that exhausted.
>> Sami: Oh, well, if you're gonna be cute, I'm never too tired for that.
>> Lucas: Then I'll be cute.
>> Sami: [ Laughs ] You just can't help yourself.
>> Kate: No, no, no, no, no. There's no way that Sami lifted that beam off Lucas' legs by herself. You helped her.
>> E.J.: For the last time, Kate. I was on my way to Mexico. There hasn't
been a roadblock built that can stop me when I'm determined.
>> Kate: Ah.
>> E.J.: However, I can see that you're not convinced. I'm gonna have my attorneys draw up dissolution papers. I can run Mythic on my own. You have until the morning to make up your mind. Officer. You know, I, uh, hear some people have a fetish for these things. Not me, of course.
>> Officer: Obviously.
>> E.J.: I prefer a woman of a certain age... with a fire in her eyes... and a lust in her heart. And I'm gonna miss you, Kate.
[ On the next "Days of our Lives"... ]
>> Victor: I want you to find Claire and bring her home.
>> Lucas: I'm sorry, Boss, but I can't do that.
>> Belle: You left everything behind.
>> Shawn D.: So, what, do you think we made a mistake?
>> Chelsea: My mom had her boyfriend over, and I just wanted to know if you had any idea who it was.
>> Nick: Um...
>> E.J.: You didn't put up a fight is because you wanted it just as much as I did.
