>>> Belle: I-I can't help thinking about how this awful tragedy might be the one thing that's gonna get Shawn to finally call. Maybe he'll come back to Salem. When he hears about his mom, he'll call his dad, and he'll have to come back.

>>> Belle: He's gonna need all our support to get through this.

>>> Phillip: That's right. Just like you needed him when your mother was shot and killed. But, was he there to help you?

>>> Philip: I don't understand you sometes. I mean, what is it? It's like you have some sort of addiction. No matter how badly he treats you, you come crawling back for more.

>>> Belle: That's not true.

>>> Phillip: Really? You know, last night you were pretty upset. In fact, you were really angry at Shawn. Am I right? And now there's a chance you're gonna get back together with him?

>>> Belle: Would that be so terrible?

>>> Phillip: After everything that's happened, how many times he's let you down? Yeah, it'd be terrible. Belle, you're setting yourself up to be hurt and dappointed. Especially now. It just down right self destructive. It doesn't make any sense, and you know it... Just forget it. I should just shower.

>>> Philip: No. Stop.

You know Belle, she's so upset about the whole Shawn thing. I mean, the way he took off like that, deserting her. And Mom --

>>> Lucas: I'm sure that he had his reasons. [ Coughing ]

>>> Sami: Oh, my God, are you okay?

>>> Sami: Oh, okay. Well -- I don't think there's any exuse for what Shawn has done to Belle.

>>> Lucas: Come on, Sami, um, Belle lied to Shawn. Well, he -- he lied about something really, really important.

>>> Lucas: Look, Sami, I think Shawn has a perfectly good right to be angry at Belle.

>>> Sami: He had no right to break her heart. To destroy the love and the trust and the hope and the future that my sister invested in him. Belle still loves him. She still wants him back.

>>> Lucas: Of course she wants him back. She's the one who screwed up.

>>> Sami: I don't think it's fair to say Belle's the one who screwed up. Especially after everything that's been going on around here lately.

>>> Lucas: All right, I'm sorry. Maybe she was just asking for forgiveness.

>>> Sami: Forgiveness? Shawn is lucy to have a girl like Belle.

It's hard to, to forgive somebody for lying about something so important.

>>> Lucas: That's because I realized I'm in love with you.

>>> Sami: I guess Shawn just needs to realize that he loves Belle.

>>> Lucas: Or maybe he's spent so much time away from her that, he realizes he doesn't love her as much as he thought he did.

>>> Kate: I know that you've just been so sick with worry about all of this.

>>> Belle: I know something's happened to Shawn, but I keep thinking in terms of an accident, you know? That, he's in the hospital or that he's left the country, and wherever he is, he just can't get the news. And, that the reason he hasn't called isn't becase he doesn't care, it's because he can't.

>>> Belle: Oh... I've never rallly actually thought that. No, I can't think that way. Shawn will hear about his Mom and he'll call home. He has to. Will you guys exuse me? I have to shower.

>>> Philip: What the hell were you thinking? So this is the new strategy, be as insensitive to Belle as possible, that's great. Oh, my God.

>>> Kate: I didn't mean to be insensitive.

>>> Philip: No? Well, now you're scaring Mom, because if you didn't realize how Belle would react to that, how anyone would react to that --

>>> Kate: I was trying to make her see that she can't waste her life pining away for Shawn.

>>> Kate: Believe me, life is too short to waste on what might have been.

>>> Phillip: That's fine. Next time you explain that to her just try to use one ounce of tact.

>>> Kate: Hmm. Well, you know something? It wasn't just for her benefit. It was for your benefit as well. We have all been through too much pain and too much loss and too much suffering, and I don't think it's surpurising that your mother's a little anxious, okay? All I want is for my children to find some love and some happiness. And, there's no guarantee there's going to be a tomorrow. Austin's not here and Billie isn't here, but you and Lucas are. And thank God, Lucas has found the sense to get Sami out of his life. And Phillip, what you need to do now is work for a future with Belle.
