Benji DIMERA
Benji DiMera is the son of Ellen and Stefano DiMera, and the grandson of Orion. While honeymooning in the Orient, Patch and Kayla befriended a deaf boy named Benji. When they were unable to find the boy's lost parents, they decided to bring him home with them to Salem. Patch and Kayla discovered that Benji's life was in danger when a strange woman showed up claiming to be Benji's mother. The woman later admitted that she was an imposter and that it was too dangerous for his real mother to come out of hiding. One day, a postcard arrived from Bo and Hope, and when Benji saw it he recalled having once been to the same place with his mother. Kayla gave the postcard to Roman hoping he would be able to find a clue to the whereabouts of Benji's mother. As Patch and Kayla continued their search for Benji's mother, they considered adopting the boy. Benji's mother, Ellen, was secretly watching them. With the help of her father, Orion, Ellen contacted Patch and Kayla. She told them she was Benji's real mother and needed to protect him from his evil father. Ellen set a date to pick up Benji, but never showed up. A short time later, Patch found her dead on the pier. Meanwhile, Benji was kidnapped by his father, Stefano DiMera. Orion contacted Patch and Kayla and told them he was Benji's grandfather. Orion helped Kayla find and rescue Benji. He told Patch and Kayla that he would like custody of Benji and together they boarded a plane and left for Europe. The last time Benji was seen in Salem was when attending Steve "Patch" Johnson's funeral. |
